- Sustainable agriculture practices must be widely implemented in order to stem an alarming loss of biodiversity and to protect endangered species. This is according to the Standards and Biodiversity report released Tuesday by the International Institute for Sustainable Development.

- On the 5th of June 2017, Kuwait ratified the Nagoya Protocol on Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization, an agreement under the Convention on Biological Diversity, bringing the total number of ratifications to 100.
