Avec un programme d'appuis aux réseaux des aires protegés(PARAP/WWF) en partenariat avec le centre de surveillance de la biodiversité,deux chercheurs dont KAMBALE KATEMBO et ASIMONYIO ANIO ont participé à un inventaire botanique dans la reserve naturelle d'itombwe dans le but d'évaluer la biodiversité au sein de cette reserve entourée par des cariières minieres et ebergents aussi des groupes armées.Ce rapport donne un etat de lieu de la biodiversité selon les differents domaines:faunes,flore,oiseaux,amphibiens......
