La variabilité morphologique étudiée chez l'espèce Ecnichronus fasciatus dans trois biotopes (fleuve zaïre en amont de chute wagenia, rivière tshopo En amont de ces cataractes de kisangani et etang botume à Kisangani a été effectué à partir de l’étude crânienne et l’analyse statistique basée sur la variabilité morpho métrique.L’étude statistique montre qu’il existe certains caractère homogènes et d’autres hétérogènes dans les trois populations. Les cranes n’indiquent pas les différences entre les trois populations sauf que sauf que la grandeur des os varie selon la taille de l’individu.
