La présente étude a consisté au dénombrement des Calaos et la caractérisation de leur habitat dans la Réserve Forestière de Masako. A partir des méthodes d’observation et de comptage des oiseaux à l’aide d’une paire de jumelles en parcourant le layon principal, allant du gîte jusqu’à la rivière Tshopo. L’étude a été menée en jachère, en forêt secondaire et en forêt primaire et cela pendant une période de 12 mois allant de mois d’avril 2012 au mois de mars 2013.Au total 479 spécimens des Calaos ont été recensées appartenant à 6 espèces et à 4 genres : les espèces Tockus fasciatus abondant avec Ensuite, cette étude a déterminé 13 familles végétales qui sont concernées par les activités des Calaos ; la famille de Fabaceae Enfin, la journée était subdivisée en intervalle de temps : intervalle
