Le fourragement de la fourmi terricole Odontomachus haenatoda (Pnnerinae, Formicidae) a été étudié au Jardin Botanique de la Faculté des Sciences au cours de la période du 2 janvier au 2 juillet 1991. Les résultats des observations effectuées montrent que cette fourmi est plus active la nuit que le jour. Cette activité semble être liée à l'humidité du sol. O. haematoda utilise la "stratégie stochastique". et ses pistes sont curvilignes et temporaires. Elle s'orienterait par le phénomène de "l'homing instinct", du tropisme ou de phototropisme. En ce qui concerne le régime alimentaire, cette espèce est principalement insectivore, prédatrice et macrophage. Il ne semble pas exister des variations significatives dans les paramètres étudiés en fonction des saisons.
