Le but de ce travail est d'éffectuer une étude détaillée et plus ou moins complète de la végétation des mares en spécifiant la composition floristique des associations et groupements végétaux, leurs exigences écologiques et répartition phytogéographique.
En connaissant donc les particularités de chaque association ou groupement végétal et les séries qui y conduisent, nous pouvons ainsi estimer les possibilités que présentent pour nous ces milieux hydromorphes.
