La malnutrition est un fléau qui touche une bonne partie des pays du tiers monde en général,ceux de l’Afrique Subsaharienne en particulier. Pour y faire face, l’homme recours aux végétaux dont plusieurs usages alimentaires sont connus, notamment l’usage alimentaire,ornemental, l’habillement, la construction, etc. (BOYEMBA 1993).Face à un accroissement galopant de la démographie, la République Démocratique du Congo en général et la Ville de Kisangani et en particulier doivent faire appel à des nombreuses ressources pour subvenir aux besoins alimentaires de ses populations (LUBINI et al, 1994).
