Cette étude a été menée sur la forêt des chutes Amonyala où la prospection botanique a abouti à la reconnaissance de 173 espèces des plantes Spermatophytes et Ptéridophytes groupées en 137 genres, 50 familles et 28 ordres.
L’aspect phytosociologique a conduit à la reconnaissance de l'association à Gilbertiodendron dewevrei et l'association à Alchornea cordifolia. Leur physionomie et écologie, leur composition floristique et leur position systématique ont été étudiées.
27 espèces nouvelles ont été recensées dans le Gilbertiodendretum dewevrei.
Les résultats obtenus ont été discutés et comparés à ceux d'autres formations analogues ou voisines.
