L'appréciation des arbres sur pied ne met pas en évidence le maximum de défauts que peut avoir un arbre. Un arbre jugé exploitable par l'équipe
d'inventaire peut renfermer de graves défauts non décelés par l'équipe et lors de son abattage ou tronçonnage, cela peutconduire à son abandon.
Cette recherche vise à déterminer le volume commercialisable disponible pour la compagnie forestière et de transformation (CFT) et de connaître le rapport existant entre le volume brut et le volume commercial à d'Entandrophragma cylindricum(Sapelli) dans le contexte précis de
l'exploitation menée dans la forêt de Kayete.
La méthodologie utilisée est l'inventaire d'exploitation et l'évaluation des volumes (le volume brut, le volume abattu et non abattu, ainsi que le volume extrait et non extrait).
Les résultats montrent que le coefficient récolement est de 63,3%, le taux de prélèvernent est de 71,05%, le taux de valorisation est de 94,01% et le coefficient de reconditionnement est de 94,7%.
